Our drainage engineers carried out a CCTV drainage survey to support the construction of a new Starbucks store at an ASDA supermarket.
As a national drainage and water utility specialist we were tasked to carry out the survey for AKN Build, which built the new drive-through store in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, on behalf of the EG Group.
A CCTV drainage survey team from Lanes Manchester depot surveyed an estimated 220 metres of surface water and foul drainage pipes to ensure they were clear and in good condition.
Lanes Area Development Manager Ian Clapham said: “We were very pleased to be asked by AKN Build to carry out the survey for a project that will improve amenities at the ASDA supermarket for shoppers and the wider community.
“A key benefit of our service is our ability to respond rapidly to client needs. This project demonstrated that. We could be on-site to carry out the survey as soon as AKN Build needed us.
“Our digital job management and survey reporting systems allow us to provide survey reports with excellent, easy-to-understand data more quickly. This helps customers make the best-informed decisions that keep their challenging schedules on track.”
Leicester-based groundworks and construction contractor AKN Build needed to build the Starbucks store in the car park of the ASDA supermarket.
That meant a section of the car park’s surface water drainage system had to be surveyed to ensure it was clear and in good repair.
Pipe diameters ranged from 100mm to 225mm and most were plastic.
Lanes use the latest remote-access robotic and push-rod CCTV camera systems to gather HD quality video images, supported by detailed data about pipe connections and flow directions, the type of pipes and their condition.
We work safely and productively in live environments for a wide range of sectors including retail.
Working 24/7, 365 hours to complete drainage projects with minimal disruption to client retail operations.
